Change of supplier
|
The change from the old supplier to the one you chose to deliver green energy is simple: just notify the future supplier by telephone, fax, e-mail or letter.
You will receive information material and the contract with detailed explanations. As soon as the contract is signed, the new supplier usually takes care of all formalities: cancellation of the contract with the old supplier, billing of all rates, e.g. counter rates etc. During the whole procedure, the power will not be disconnected!
Just take notice of the following points:
1. The offer has to be complete. Make sure that you will have a full supply factor. This means that you have a supply of 100 % of your energy use by this supplier.
2. Check whether the new tariff includes all price components. These are the working price (=Pf./kWh) and the base rate (monthly or yearly fees including the fee for the meter). The base rate is often splitted of in the two components: price per Kilowatt and the shadow price. On top the energy tax and the value added tax are added. All these components have to be included in the gross price.
3. The contract term of the new contract is supposed to be as short as possible. This is important as there will be pricecuts in the near future. If you sign a contract of 12 month or even longer, let your supplier guarantee you, that you will also profit from pricecuts of this supplier. Look for short terms of notice, that you can cancel your contract any time even a few weeks before your contract expires. A lot of contracts of the new suppliers renew automatically for a certain contractperiod. |
