The Spanish government needs
to invest € 23.5 billon to increase capacity in renewable sources
to 20,155 MW in 2010. The two biggest recipients of the investments
increasing production of renewables are wind and biomass. But photovoltaic
and thermal capacity are expected to grow rapidly.
In the most optimistic
view renewable energy could even reach a share of 16%, according
the plan for renewable energy 2005-2010.
Spain is already one of the
leading countries in the world in terms of installed renewable capacity.
The complete plan (in Spanish)
is here.
