Renewable energy targets 2010 still beyond reach

The 2010 renewable energy targets of the European Union are getting more and more beyond reach. The most recent estimate of the share in 2010 is about 8%, which is well below the 12% target. However, if Member States would apply the best available policies regarding different technologies now, ten years later (in 2020) a 20% renewable share in all energy (fuels, heat and power) still can be obtained. Spain nr. 1 in top ten RE attractiveness

Recently, consultancy company Ernst & Young published the Summer 2005 Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Indices. This index clarifies how attractive countries are in the long term for new renewable energy projects. 7 Billion Euro budget for Dutch feed-in grants
