more (Subscription required) Oceans absorb less CO2 than expected One of the biggest CO2 sinks, the Antarctic Ocean, is taking up less of the greenhouse gas than expected, say atmospheric researchers in this week’s Science magazine. This reduction in absorption is occurring 40 years ahead of expectation, which means that efforts to stabilise CO2 levels must now be redoubled, says lead researcher Corinne Le Quéré. Read
