Spain’s wind energy hits record-high

Strong winds and low demand during Easter holiday in Spain boosted the share of wind energy in the total electricity consumption to an average 28% during the last three days. Council: 'Biofuels should reduce 50% in 2015'

In 2015, biofuels used in the EU should reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50%, compared to fossil transport fuels. This is an increase from a minimum of 35% reduction in 2011 and is the most important amendment the European Council proposes for the sustainability scheme for biofuels. Read moreimage
